When I was a sophomore in college, I was more sure of my political views than I am these days. I was That Kid who gave my calc professor a hard time for erasing something from the board and backing up. He was pretty cool, for a calc professor, so when I said "isn't that a flip flop" (remember that snafu?) he said "Correcting a mistake when you find out you were wrong isn't a sign of weakness in my book." Probably he didn't say it quite that harshly, or at least I hope not. Anyway. I've been thinking about that encounter quite a bit lately.
